Over 2,700 acres in the Sofia and Burgas districts were declared protected areas
Starbucks is a pioneer in investing funds in the name of new protected natural areas in our country. We feel proud and share the success with WWF Bulgaria. At their suggestion, the Ministry of Environment and Water /MOEW/ issued orders for the declaration of two new protected areas â Marinov dol and Sazladzhata, which occupy a total area of ââover 2700 decares and place beech, hornbeam and spruce forests, as well as habitats of rare and protected bird species, under the protection of the law. Starbucks supports WWF through the mandatory fee for single-use cups, introduced in establishments in January 2024. The fee was introduced with the Regulation on Reducing the Impact of Certain Plastic Products on the Environment and increases every year, and information about its amount is included in the cash receipt.
